Skyvan

Skyvan - 9th/10th August

A big big thank you to everyone who came to the Solstice Boogie for your patience and good humour in the face of extreme weather related adversity!

Because the weather was so appalling, we have re-scheduled the Skyvan and are working on re-booking the helicopter for the weekend of the 9th and 10th of August. For the big way jumpers amongst us, we have 4 load organisers (Billy Payn, Dave Lewis, Kate Burn and Mike Lewis) confirmed so let's start praying for some better weather!

Competition

AFPC 2008 - 15th to 22nd August

Armed Forces Parachute Championships 2008

All comers welcome - military and civilian alike. The competition covers accuarcy, FS, CF and for the first time an artistic category. Where possible, we aim to get all jumps completed over the first weekend for teams that are unavailable during the following week. Fun jumping will be extremely limited (not even any tandems!) on the weekend of the 16th and 17th so why not enter and guarantee being able to jump?

Full details and entry forms can be found here (updated on 26-6-8).

Morocco Boogie

The APA is currently mulling over the idea of a boogie in Morocco this winter.

Details are still being worked out, but the plan so far is this: For 2 weeks around November/December the APA is thinking of taking one of the Caravans to an airfield near Beni Mallal in Morocco (map). This airfield runs as a dropzone during the winter months with several operations from europe moving their DZs to it for a few weeks/months at a time - the APA looking at doing something similar. The airfiled has good DZ facilities and even in the winter the weather is almost guaranteed for jumping. Jump tickets would be normal price, you'd need to get yourself to Morrocco (Easyjet flies to Marrakech and Casablanca) and theres hotel accomodation in the town for around £20 a night.

At the moment things are in the planning stages, even wether or not the boogie will happen. There would need to be enough people to make it worth organising so please get in touch manifest@solsticeboogie.info to let us know you are interested. We won't have answers to all the questions yet, but if enough people want to go we can make it happen.

Email

APA Email addresses

Owing to the info@netheravon.com and apa@netheravon.com email addresses becoming compromised and leaving Robin and Tanya knee deep in spam, we are going to remove these addresses over the weekend.

New email addresses have been set up, Tanya is 'coursesmanager' and Robin is 'apasecretary', both at netheravon.com. Please change your address books!

Welcome to the alternative Nethers website!

Hi Guys! Thanks to Dave P, we now have another means of communicating. Please email me if you think of anything we need to put on here. I will be adding some basic stuff over the next day or two so keep an eye out.
